Утвердительная форма предложений

В утвердительном предложении используется прямой порядок слов: подлежащее - сказуемое - другие члены предложения.

There is an elephant in the zoo. There is a watch on the shelf. There are ten eggs in the fridge. There are three coconuts in the basket. There is a big piece of cheese on the plate. There is some coffee in the cup. There is some juice in the glass. Формирование отрицательных предложений

Для формирования отрицания мы прибавим к форме вспомогательного глагола to be (is или are в нашем случае) частицу not и получим:

There is not an elephant in the zoo. There is not a watch on the shelf. There are not ten eggs in the fridge. There are not three coconuts in the basket. There is not a big piece of cheese on the plate. There is not any coffee in the cup. There is not any juice in the glass.

Сокращенная форма отрицания будет выглядеть так: is not = isn't, are not = aren't

Также нужно помнить, что в отрицательных предложениях some после not меняется на any.

Формирование вопросительных предложений

Для того чтобы предложения сделать вопросительными, мы просто поменяем их структуру - вынесем форму вспомогательного глагола на первое место. Получим следующее:

Is there an elephant in the zoo? Is there a watch on the shelf? Are there ten eggs in the fridge? Are there three coconuts in the basket? Is there a big piece of cheese on the plate? Is there any coffee in the cup? Is there any juice in the glass?

В вопросительном предложении some также заменяется на any.

1) There is an elephant in the zoo. There isn't an elephant in the zoo. Is there an elephant in the zoo?

2) There is a watch on the shelf. There isn't a watch on the shelf. Is there a watch on the shelf?

3) There are ten eggs in the fridge. There aren't ten eggs in the fridge. Are there ten eggs in the fridge?

4) There are three coconuts in the basket. There aren't three coconuts in the basket. Are there three coconuts in the basket?

5) There is a big piece of cheese on the plate. There isn't a big piece of cheese on the plate. Is there a big piece of cheese on the plate?

6) There is some coffee in the cup. There isn't any coffee in the cup. Is there any coffee in the cup?

7) There is some juice in the glass. There isn't any juice in the glass. Is there any juice in the glass?
