They don't find wooden buildings deep under the streets of modern York Ancient York wasn't rich and famous in the 11th century. When Vikings don't die their relatives used to bury their dead with treasure of gold and silver. Archaeologist don't find lots of treasures in Viking graves. There wasn't a skeleton of rich man in one of the graves. Vikings didn't come from Scandinavia and didn't settle in the North of Britain.
