- What happened yesterday? (What did happen yesterday?)

- When I was sleeping yesterday, somebody called. It was my friend.

I stood up (*it's better to say "I got out of bed") and we went to the cinema.

- What are you doing now?

- And now I'm writing a letter to my sister.
