Simon has been studying to become an engineer for five years already. At school he had been working very hard for more than two years to prepare for his final exam. When the exam results were published he was delighted to discover he had succeeded. However he had to wait another year before going to university because it required that every student should work as a trainee engineer so as to have a basic understanding of practical engineering before they started studying there at university.
