Gerasim was very sorry for his act. It is important to respect the rights of animals. Mocking animals is punishable by the laws of our time. Gerasim lived at a time when he was not punished for killing animals. I think that Gerasim could change his mind and save the life of the animal. I very much regret that Gerasim drowned the dog.
