Who was George Washington?

Not many people know American history well. But it shows us the main characters and leaders of the nation as well. I think one of the most famous Americans to be named is George Washington. Would you like to know about him? George Washington was the first person to be elected the President of the United States. He was born in Virginia, just south of Washington, D. C. He grew up on a large farm. He went to school for about eight years. He especially liked to study mathematics. He also liked to study history and geography, because he wanted to know about other parts of the world. Amazing, but usually children don't like history. This fact describes George Washington as a person who saw his great future from the very childhood. George Washington led the American army in many battles during the War for American Independence. Washington, D. C. was chosen by George Washington as the permanent site for American nation's capital on December 1, 1800. Many people say that Americans are proud of their first President, George Washington. And I agree with this statement, because he made everything for his country, nation and great future of the USA. I guess, he could die for his people too. This is a feature of the real leader.
