На ней был темно синий поплиновый плащ поверх серых спортивных штанов с белыми кроссовками; в свои 23 она выглядела как тот тип женщин, о которых она однажды сказала, что никогда не станет на них похожа. Она вернулась из спортивного зала. Ее клюквенная помада была видна только на внешних границах губ, а подводка оставила угольные отпечатки под нижними ресницами. Шукумар подумал, что иногда она так выглядела утром после вечеринки или ночи в баре, когда слишком ленилась, чтобы умыть лицо.
