He gets up, eats, goes to school, is good or bad, hopes for adventures, reads more books from the Public Library, comes back home, goes to bed, and gets up and begins all over again, still nothing happens. No strange-looking men speak mysteriously to him in deserted streets, no old women die and leave him a hundred pounds. Life is so dull!

Every day he went to the Public Library and brought home books about boys who went whale hunting or flew round the world in home-made aeroplanes or who were wrecked on a deserted island, lived for a year on fruits and returned home on a raft bringing with them treasures, they found on the island. However, nothing happened to James. He got up, ate, went to school, was it good or bad, hoped for adventures, read more books from the Public Library, came back home, went to bed, and got up and began all over again, still nothing happened. No strange-looking men spoke mysteriously to him in deserted streets, no old women died and left him a hundred pounds. Life was so dull!
