В грамматической структуре there be выбор формы глагола в настоящем простом времени зависит от формы существительного, следующего за структурой

е сли существительное употреблено в единственном числе, выбираем is: There is a dog in the garden; е сли существительное используется во множественном числе, говорим/пишем are: There are pigs on the farm.

1) There is a big grey carpet on my floor. 2) There are three windows in our living room. 3) There are a lot of books on the shelves. 4) there is a beautiful fireplace in the Hobbit's hole. 5) There are no chairs in my bedroom.
