2. Some years ago he studied English there. Past Simple.

3. Last month he visited some friends in Edinburgh. Past Simple.

4. Unfortunately, I could not go to Edinburgh with him. Past Simple.

5. This is a pity. They are my friends, too, and I have not seen them for ages. Present Perfect.
