After a few weeks, I was cheerful, had friends and was beginning to be enthusiastic about life at my new school. In those days, most schools had uniform and I became quite prideful of wearing mine. 4. Fairly soon I learnt that to make sure one got a job or went on to university after leaving school, you had to pass exams. Then you would not be in danger of being employer. To pass exams you had to known something and that meant studying. I was inspired by biology and geography, completely confused by chemistry, and generally different to other subjects. 5. So I easily managed to play lots of different sports.
