Flooding is of different origin. Flooding can occur as a result of rains. The rains are long and there is a lot of precipitation. Water floods streets and cars, so they start to float in the water. Flooding can be caused by earthquakes in the ocean. A large wave, called the tsunami, goes ashore. The wave floods everything in its path. This earthquake was in Japan when the nuclear power plant was flooded. People knew about the arrival of the wave for several kilometers, but not all managed to leave because of the big traffic jams on the road.
