1) The boys are tired. They have been playing football for an hour and a half. 2) Alex has been talking on the phone since I came home. 3) The telephone has been ringing for about a minute. Why doesn't someone answer it? 4) Mr. Williams has been writing his book for half a year and hasn't finished it yet. 5) People have been working on this since the beginning of the century. 6) John has been washing his car since nine o'clock this morning. 7) Sarah has been waiting for her sister for a long time.
