Все мы слышали о знаменитом Белом доме в Вашингтоне, резиденции президента США. Немногие из нас на самом деле знают, почему он белый. История помнит, что первоначальное здание подожгли британцы во время Войны за независимость. Некоторое время спустя его покрыли белой краской, чтобы замазать следы на стенах. С тех пор здание сохранило этот цвет как часть американской истории. Какого цвета было здание до войны?

(Песчано-серого, так как строилось из серовато-жёлтого песчаника)
