Put the verbs in brackets into the past simple, past continuous, present perfect simple or present perfect continuous.

2. When I (to read) a book my friend (to write) a letter. When I was reading a book my friend was writing a letter.

3. They (to meet) in the restaurant for five hours. They have met in the restaurant for five hours.

4. He (to live) in the village for five days. He has been living in the village for five days.
