1. Не более 6 процентов детей в Великобритании поступают в государственную школу. Образование там очень дорогое (до 20 000 долларов в год). Но эти школы дают своим ученикам хорошее знание предметов. Самые популярные школы датируются еще 15 веком: Харроу, Винчестер и Итон.

2. Вначале государственные школы были предназначены только для мальчиков или только для девочек. В настоящее время многие школы являются сообразовательными (или смешанными), где учатся мальчики и девочки. Общественные школы могут быть школами - интернатами (учащиеся проживают там весь год, за исключением праздников) или дневными (когда ученики отправляются домой каждый вечер).
